Villadoro Entrance About Villadoro

The rolling hills of the Sierra Nevada begin at the El Dorado County line, rising out of the great Sacramento Valley. El Dorado Hills became an important rest stop for stage coaches and wagon trains en route to and from the gold country.

Today, El Dorado Hills is a flourishing community with an increasingly prestigious residential address, yet it remains true to the designs of its original inhabitants, who sought a home a little ways above the bustle of the valley.

Villadoro sits on the western side of El Dorado Hills, overlooking the Sacramento Valley. The site, nestled comfortably into the foothills just above the fog line, offers unobstructed views of the valley, Folsom Lake, and the City of Sacramento.

The location of El Dorado Hills makes it easily accessible to some of California's great destinations. Lake Tahoe is about 90 minutes up Highway 50. Along the way, the traveler can follow in the footsteps of those who sought their fortune in the fickle and unforgiving Mother Lode. Folsom Lake is mere minutes away, historic Placerville just a few more. The Sierra Nevada mountains are in the backyard.

Villadoro is situated in a woodland habitat defined by blue and live oak, buckeye and foothill pine. Native blooms adorn the terrain, California poppies and lupines, wild hyacinth, shooting star, yellow star thistle, Himalayan blackberry.

Oak woodlands provide habitats for many species of wildlife. Residents will share their surroundings with such neighbors ad the white-tailed kite, red-tailed hawk, the western meadowlark, and Anna's hummingbird. Mule deer roam. The awesome bald eagle winters at nearby Folsom Lake. A pacific chorus frog may even chime in from a nearby wetland.

Our Villadoro shares its name and a similar setting, with village, located in Sicily, Italy. There, a small village community rests on the side of a mountain, with a population of less than 100.

The valley and the city are an easy drive, but seem a long way from Villadoro.

The Developers

John Gladish
Villadoro is John Gladish's second hillside gated community facing west. When asked why, he answered,"sunsets are an important part of my life." Gladish has been involved in real estate development for twenty-five years. His projects have included office parks, apartment buildings, shopping centers, warehouses and the above mentioned gated communities.

Gladish's real estate philosophy is simple. Find a piece of land that excites you, add great landscape and building architects, season with talented engineers and a strong project manager, throw in a patient banker and an honest construction company and together create something outstanding.

He describes his family owned business as lean and nimble, with enough variety to keep it interesting. His dream for Villadoro is that all the owners love living there, have even more incredible increases in their homes' value and enjoy many georgeous sunsets.

Robert Becker
Robert Becker has worked in the real estate development business for almost 30 years. He is a 50 percent shareholder in Wintergreen Enterprises, Inc., a California development and construction company.
